Paper Abstract:      Malaria, potentially dreadful tropical disease caused by a parasite from the genus of Plasmodium, threatens the lives of more than one third of the world’s population and kills one million people every year. But this leading global health problem is traditionally ignored by the pharmaceutical industries as it is restricted to mainly poor and developing countries and also due to heavy costs (~$800 million) involved in the drug discovery activities. Virtual screening allows, in cost-effective way, rapid and reliable in silico selection of best candidate drugs acting against a given protein.
