Paper Abstract:      Japan is currently the most rapidly aging country in the world, and it is equipped with the most sophisticated ICT infrastructure. Japan introduced mandatory specific health check-ups and specific health consultations in April 2008, with the purpose of decreasing medical costs through the prevention of the lifestyle-related diseases. As a result, the Personal Health Record, which refers to the individual’s self-measurement and maintenance of personal health data, has been receiving increasing attention. This study examines the factors that affect users’ intention to use the PHR service on an ongoing basis using the Technology Acceptance Model. Based on the factor analysis results, aspects of the e-Health service are investigated that can help to propagate the system in the future.
