Paper Abstract:
|
Business Intelligence means that the right information has to be ready to the right people, at the right time, and in a
semantic that corresponds to the users understanding. The right information implies not only its content correctness but
also that it should be according to the users needs. The right time means that the information should be available on the
moment the user needs it for making a decision. Unfortunately, current Business Intelligence environments are still
limited and heavy-weighted to fulfill these requirements. The work presented in this paper contributes to the solution of
these issues with an information integration approach that allows user analysis on a semantic level of information and
delivery of information on the moment the user needs it. A layered architecture is proposed in which the business
knowledge and the user background knowledge are represented by ontologies, which are integrated in the upper layers,
allowing user analysis in their proper levels. |
