Paper Abstract:      An important issue in the capture of the real experience of using technology solutions is the ability to assess emotional quality. There are several methods for emotional quality evaluation in the literature; most of them have the subject recognize his/her emotional state from a list of possible values. When used with deaf subjects, however, language problems arise; mainly because of differences between oral and sign language, but also because the perception of emotion is associated with facial expression. It is expect that emotional quality evaluation methods must be adapted so they can be applied during interviews with deaf persons. In this paper, it is proposed the Emotion-LIBRAS, a method for Emotional Quality Evaluation for deaf subjects in Brazil, based on an experiment of interviewing two Brazilian deaf students to find out about their emotions in respect of the technology’s use.
