Paper Abstract:
|
Bioinformatics is increasingly being used to improve the quality of life as we know it. Often bioinformatics users receive no formal training on how to exploit the bioinformatics resources and tools to their full potential. The European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) is one of the few places in the world that has the resources and expertise to provide access to large data sets of numerous types. Training is a core part of the EBI and since, itÂ’s impossible to train all of our worldwide users face-to-face, online distance courses have become a key part of our training programme. A new eLearning portal is currently being developed at the EBI. At present an eLearning platform has chosen and the course contents are currently being implemented and tested. |
