Paper Abstract:
|
Recently, science studies by using the e-Learning system are expected. Most of them are based on the WEB style materials, which include texts, photographs and actual videos. Then, we have developed the education system named CAP (Cyber Assistant Professor) which is an interactive e-Education system based on the 3D-CG animation and voice synthesis. Further, we have developed the animation scenario language named CPSL3 (Cyber Person Scenario Language 3) to reduce a production cost of teaching materials. This paper describes about the Virtual Science Experiment System using CAP and CPSL3. It would be like the Video game software using mouse and keyboard. But these were not easy for some of students to get to the correct answer for lack of knowledge about scientific terms, electric parts or chemical materials. To improve this situation, we have developed the new function named Virtual Exploratory Learning (VEL) in CPSL3 Tag-commands. During the Virtual Experiment, students can click the Exploratory Target (3D-CG Stage Parts) at any time to get the hint or the detail explanation about technical terms and materials. In VEL period, the progress of experiment pauses automatically and waits for students to resume the experiment. In order to inspect the effect of these functions, we have practiced the Virtual Science Experiment in the junior high school. This paper reports these results and effectiveness of our system. |
