Paper Abstract:      This paper proposes a novel educational support system for remote education on experiments including both real and virtual electronic circuit-making. The proposed system consists of the experimenter’s system connected with an analysis system by a computer network. The experimenter’s system is applicable to both real and virtual experiment including circuit-making. An experimenter can select to use the educational support system for real circuit-making or virtual circuit-making according to his environment. The analysis system automatically recognizes the change of the circuit construction one after another in real-time by using image processing, and translates the circuit into a general circuit-description language (SPICE). This automated SPICE translation allows simulation of the circuit operation and inform the behavior of the circuit before or without operating the circuit. Moreover, the proposed system can automatically teach incorrect parts in the circuit to an experimenter, thus the system improves the efficiency and safety of experiments. The usefulness and the effectiveness of the proposed system were evaluated by applying the circuits constructed by 43 university students in a real class.
