Paper Abstract:      Traditional e-procurement systems rely on centralized architectures such e-marketplaces or standalone applications provided by a B2B company. In both cases, product and supplier information is stored and managed by private companies, what implies a third-party presence. P2P architecture offers a different approach to B2B, creating networks where peers can collaborate and interact directly, without the need of third-parties. Searching for products, a common task in e-procurement, can be easily performed and improved in a P2P environment where high escalability and massive resources are key features. We introduce an e-catalog management system on top of a P2P overlay network. Peers who want to sell products create and manage e-catalogs which are stored in databases held by server peers. Peers who wish to buy products send queries to the server peers, which search inside their stored e-catalogs and return lists of supplierpeers. Customer-peers can perform e-commerce transactions like purchase orders with selected suppliers from the list.
