Paper Abstract:
|
The pro and contra over the importance of e-money being attributed the status of legal tender has been brought on the table since the early 90s. Is obtaining the status of legal tender really necessary for e-money to strengthen its position as a means of efficient payments in the economy? What do current major laws around the world say on this idea? This paper tries to shed a light in answering those questions using legal and economics perspectives. |
