Paper Abstract:
|
This article focuses on the practicalities of e-Government information systems development, like electronic forms management, which has given us conception of over romanticizing the challenges of the practice, by familiarizing ourselves with some findings reported in the field of e-Government. There seems to be an understanding of complex and costly shift from traditional transaction processing into electronic processing that, according to our findings is not that crucial. We have gathered development experiences from longitudinal, multiple case studies, in exploiting Information Systems (IS) and implementation in six Web application projects of e-Government during 2000 - 2005. Research methods used were both qualitative and constructive, where we have analyzed documentation collected during the projects, project minutes recording, observations and feedback gained from the users after the instantiations of the e-Government information systems developed. As the results of our study we found that 1) when moving towards e-Government there is no evidently needs to change the organization structure or processes instead of recent knowledge, we delineate 2) the practical simplicity of the focal process model, ratification, for e-Government IS development and that 3) the cost of e-government development arises from the organization itself. |
