Paper Abstract:      Human capital is critical to e-commerce success. In order for e-commerce to fulfill its potential for worldwide economic growth, widespread availability of education is necessary. The present study investigated the prevalence and content of e-commerce degree programs offered by higher education institutions outside of North America. Data was collected in 2006 via web searches then compared to similar data collected in 2001 and 2003. Results suggested that the number of both bachelor’s and master’s e-commerce degree programs increased since 2003. This increase was less however than between 2001-2003 when many more new e-commerce programs were introduced. Program content appeared to have a slightly more technical emphasis in 2006 than in 2003. Although degree programs were available on a majority of continents, most were based in Europe and Australia, attesting to the current uneven state of global e-readiness.
