Paper Abstract:      Today’s applications demonstrate the need for a variety of transactional properties and adaptable transaction processing. The ReflecTS platform supports these needs by offering an extensible set of transaction managers (TMs), each providing different transactional guarantees. From ReflecTS, a suitable TM can be chosen for each particular transaction execution request. After the selection procedure, a transaction service (TS) is composed, consisting of the selected TM and the requested resource managers (RMs). While transaction processing systems of today keep mainly one TM, giving a static TS composition, ReflecTS opens up for a dynamic service composition procedure. Dynamic service composition raises the need to evaluate Property Compatibility and Communication Compatibility between the components in a TS. The composition procedure and these compatibility issues are the topics for this paper.
