Paper Abstract:
|
This article deals with the measurement of the digital citizenship and its survey result in the case of Korea. Digital citizenship can be defined as the individual qualification of cognitive, moral, aesthetic, and practical capability to add the meaning and value of life in the digitalized environment. Each qualification involves components that range from personal internet using skill to the internet use for social responsibility fulfillment. Empirical analysis of data on Korean users on the Internet confirms that people use the Internet usually in the aspect of their personal practical lives, but they rarely use it for the participation of political or social activities and also of social responsibility such as online contribution or social services. Finally, the authors suggest political implication and future tasks to expand the digital citizenship for the good information society. |
