Paper Abstract:
|
This paper documents the development of an agent-based patient scheduling system prototype, focusing on the
methodological process rather than the resulting system. As such, one of the authors of this article, inexperienced within
agent technologies built the prototype during one university semester, reporting all challenges and experiences. The
conclusions from this work show that the theoretical benefits of the agent-oriented approach can be realized by normal
developers but emphasize the importance of tool support to handle challenges involving agent interaction and abstraction
gaps. |
