Paper Abstract:
|
Differential cryptanalysis is a process to understand the basic structure of any cipher and also to break its structure. Previously differential cryptanalysis was used to study of the block cipher like DES but in recent times differential cryptanalysis of stream ciphers are useful in breaking the structure of the cipher. In this paper we are proposing a survey of differential fault attack over MICKEY stream cipher. MICKEY is one of the finalists of eSTREAM (the European stream cipher) project. Mickey is a hardware oriented stream cipher. Till date very less amount of information is available about different attacks on this cipher. Our idea is to perform differential fault attack over the cipher by introducing random bit faults at some random location of the output cipher. Stream ciphers are candidate of fault attacks over the output cipher because any adversary can inject faulty bit at any location and the input stream bit can be recovered by those attacks. |
