Paper Abstract:      Lives of the MS-patients can be lonesome and a web-based experiential virtual community could enable both better social inclusion and better daily life. In this paper such a virtual community for MS-patients with professional- and peer support is presented. The motivation of the paper is to extend the meaning of independent physical and mental practicing as a part of occupational therapy and thus promote the quality of life of MS-patients. This paper introduces a virtual community called Activator that is built on user and organisational requirements and was tested by two different pilot groups formed from MSpatients. Thus MS-disease cause variable symptoms, the design- and implementation process for such a challenging target group was not straightforward. However the results indicated that the developed Activator achieved the objectives, the perception of the MS-patients was appropriate and the Activator satisfied all organisational requirements. In this paper, a further study on experience economy was conducted in order to find more exact design and implementation guidelines. It seems that integrating software engineering and experience economy metrics is a promising path for enabling social inclusion and better quality of life for marginalised people.
