Paper Abstract:      In this paper, we proposed the remote management system for Personal Healthcare Data (PHD) devices. Management for PHD devices is an important research topic because the devices are closely linked to people’s health and life. The proposed management system is based on OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) DM (Device Management) which is the international de facto standard for mobile devices to remain compatible with a legacy OMA DM system. This paper presents the overall management system architecture and defines required MOs (Management Object) for the medication dispenser. And this paper also presents designed processes of the remote management operation for the medication dispenser (medication status notification, parameter configuration, software management and error reporting and recovering). Although the management system proposed in this paper was designed for the medication dispenser, it can be employed to other PHD devices easily by adding the required MOs and expanding the DM Tree.
