Paper Abstract:
|
This paper presents design and implementation issues related to a semantic web search system that is being specifically
developed for the needs of the business community in Cyprus. More specifically, a market research has pointed out that
content related to Cyprus products and/or services as well as content business registered under a domain name in the
Cyprus republic can not be easily retrieved from existing search engines. A semantic web search engine system has been
proposed to address this issue. The semantic web search engine system will be used primarily by the business
community. For this purpose, an ontology has been developed for Cyprus products and services based on international
standards. The ontology will be used with instantiations of Cyprus specific content. Complementary to that, a Web
Crawler, an Ontology Parser and an Ontology Indexer have been implemented. An Ontology ranker is being developed to
address issues related to the presentation of the results. |
