Paper Abstract:
|
This paper presents an experience in the building of a Virtual Enterprise (VE) to support the activities of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Republic of Panama. We start with the principle that every organization needs to know and interpret advances in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and its trends, in the economic aspect of its utilization as well as its possibilities of application. We describe the concrete strategy utilized to adjust the general concepts of VE to our local environment, as well as the VE Life Cycle, the platform architecture and the current state of the project. In addition, we describe some experimental tests performed during the first phase of the project, suggestions for further improvement and functionalities that can be included in short time to the VE platform. |
