Paper Abstract:
|
This paper is about contingencies and activities necessary for Business intelligence in the context of financial bank environment. Business intelligence is still a key issue and a critical phenomenon for both information systems practitioners and researchers. Nonetheless, business intelligence is still without challenges and issues as organizations struggle to achieve their projected business targets and desired goals. In this paper, the argument is that a profound analysis of activities and contingencies is key to improving business intelligence. Following an interpretive philosophy and a qualitative approach, this paper explores and describes the activities and contingencies enabling a business intelligence environment. Business intelligence is seen as a complex social activity system. To this point, Activity and Contingency theories are used as lenses to analyze the activity system. The paper conceptualizes a business intelligence activity framework for improving and enhancing performance, in a financial bank. |
