Paper Abstract:
|
Nowadays, Web2.0 related services and applications are prevalent, indicating that the Internet community may bring more significant impact on other community members concepts or behavior than experts do. Therefore, we believe that the definition of field gatekeepers in the system view of creativity proposed by Csikszentmihalyi should be modified adequately to accommodate the idea of community consensus. This research is mainly based on two Web2.0 principles: sharing knowledge and co-creating ideas. We plan to establish a Web2.0-based community assisted thinking website to support users in problem-solving and creative thinking processes. We aim to explore the power of collective wisdom through an open environment featuring peer production, sharing and mass collaboration. In addition, we will group research subjects into three independent communities (complementary, similar, and random type) based on their thinking styles, in order to investigate which community type may better facilitate an individuals problem-solving or creative-thinking abilities. We hope to enable users to become more aware of various viewpoints and encourage users to think diversely by taking others opinions into account, thus avoiding habitual thinking patterns. |
