Paper Abstract:      Critically ill patients experience newly acquired long-term cognitive impairment, major physical, mental and functional disabilities. Those patients are given the diagnosis of post-intensive care syndrome. Integrating technology-based activities into occupational therapy sessions means; Intensive Care Unit patients will be given the chance to challenge their cognitive abilities as well as their physical function, and to interact with technology within a physically limiting environment. This paper presents a complete research design (from medical and technical points of views) for a structured technology based therapy to prevent PICS among critically ill patients. Researchers called the new app CogGym (Cognition Gymnastics). CogGym is an android- based devices application with an Arabic User Interface that contains many flexible and easy to use games designed specifically for the Arab critically ill patients. Ditto, CogGym enables them to continue to do therapeutic gymnastics after the therapist leaves the room to keep working toward rehabilitation goals.
