Paper Abstract:
|
Games like Poke?mon enthuse young people since 1996. Over 20 edition have been sold over 200 million times since then. Many players know almost all of the 649 creatures by heart. The knowledge about those Poke?mon however is pointless. It would be great to combine the thirst for knowledge with a more relevant domain of knowledge. Because of our interest in chemistry we decided to make a game like Poke?mon within this domain. Our goal is to develop a captivating role-playing game connected to a knowledge domain which is usable for the future. The game will have similar mechanics as Poke?mon that allow the player to fight against other creatures. However the capturing mechanism will work quite differently. Instead of simply capturing creatures, the player needs to apply his knowledge about ionic bonds to create a new compound by reacting two substances. |
