Paper Abstract:      We determine the entropy of the cycles existing in Wikipedia, an example of collaborative social networks. Two entropies are compared the entropy based on cycles and based the entropy based on the degree of the nodes. We model Wikipedia as a hypergraph with nodes representing authors, documents and referencing relationship. We found the referencing relationship is relatively dynamic and has cyclic entropy of 2.04 whereas the relationship between authors collaborating on these pages is more dynamic, with an entropy equals 0.68. The cyclic entropy of the relations among articles of common contributors has the highest entropy equals to 2.38, which suggests the least dynamicity. Compared to the degree entropy, the cyclic entropy is a better characterizing property of the dynamicity of collaborative networks.
