Paper Abstract:
|
The digital transformation of our society today poses both challenges and opportunities for recreational sports clubs.
However, to be able to reap the benefits of digitalization, these clubs need to have corresponding skills and capabilities.
As the clubs are often organized within multiple levels of associations and federations, issues of IT governance play an
important role. In this article we set out to deepen the understanding of IT governance in non-professional sports in
Germany. We employ Actor-Network Theory to analyze the situation of different sports clubs in one region in Germany.
We firstly identify relevant actors, derive requirements on IT, and discuss challenges for aligning the agency of the different
actors. We present implications for future research as well as for practitioners. |
