Paper Abstract:
|
This paper aims to identify the major challenges affecting ICT sustainable implementations in the UAE federal government sector. In order to identify these challenges this research analyzes the requirements and benefits of ICT sustainable implementations. This paper investigated the current efforts and investments on sustainable initiatives in the selected UAE federal government agencies. Ultimately, this research argues that main challenges of sustainable ICT practices in the UAE federal government are linked to having adequate budgets for executing sustainability initiatives besides having management support and supportive corporate structures. The study results demonstrates that the support of the ICT sustainability implementations efforts, which include developing clear laws and policies and the development of supporting organizational structures and promoting service innovation cultures belong to the main factors effecting the implementation of ICT sustainability. |
