Paper Abstract:
|
One of the most significant challenges facing organizations today is the fact that corporate data is being delivered to mobile devices that are not managed by the IT department. This practice brings presents many new opportunities which businesses can exploit but present associated security risks. With these unmanaged devices, companies have less control and visibility, and fewer mitigation options when protecting against the risks of cyber-attacks. This research adopted a survey approach, which employs the use of questionnaires as the main data collection tool. From the questionnaire, descriptive data analysis is employed to synthesize, analyze and interpret the data. The results indicate the need for layered security protection between the organization and personal data, which focuses on balancing the thin line between empowering employees while enabling greater business agility. |
