Paper Abstract:
|
The cultural transformation that was fostered by the diffusion of the information and communication technologies (ICT) caused the scientific community to enquire into the consequences of their use in education and, once the change in paradigm was acquired, to propose new theorizations and experimentations, to prevent them from becoming an obstacle to the dialogue between generations and cultures. In present-day western societies, which are also characterised by a pluralism of information and communication, the building of a personal, cultural and social identity, in itself dynamic and dialogical, appears in all its complexity, and ITCs are one of the factors affecting it. The internet explosion made unimaginable amounts of information available to everyone, and opened a fast, horizontal, simple and accessible communication channel; it also exerted an influence on democratic systems, proposing a new concept of democracy: the so-called electronic democracy (e-democracy), a form of participation, as direct as possible, by means of the net. In a complex society, in what manner do blogs, a web 2.0 technology, influence the forms of democratic participation and how do they affect the development of personal, cultural and social identities? |
