Paper Abstract:
|
Big data are increasingly being adopted by modern organizations as a competitive way to gain new insights, inform decisions, and unfold business value. Correspondingly, there has been a growing number of studies investigating big data, yet the originating literature is dispersed and the definition of big data varies among studies. In this article, we first explore various current views on the ambiguous term of big data. Then, we propose a renewed definition that synthesizes existing perspectives and adds agency, as the missing link to value creation. |
