Paper Abstract:      Current developments of mobile communication technologies allow the creation of solutions for health services and online monitoring that were not available in the past. These technologies can be used to improve quality of life of patients who suffer from chronic diseases, their relatives and their caregivers. By making monitoring tests in their own homes, patients avoid unnecessary trips to health centers. However, a combined use of different mobile and wireless technologies already present in most homes can entail some problems. Interferences among these technologies are one of the undesirable effects that might be produced if some of them operate in the same environment. This paper describes an architecture that aims at improving assistance quality using mobile communication technologies and the deployment problems caused by the existing interferences in patients’ homes.
