Paper Abstract:
|
With the fast development of Internet, the social networks are now playing an increasingly important role in the communication of our society. Which method can be used to determine who has the greatest impact/influence on the social networks? As the rapid growth of social networks, its become more and more necessary to measure the impact of individuals in this field. Every social network has its ranking displaying who is the most popular member at the moment. However, this measurement is incomplete and one-dimensional. This paper applies the Shannon entropy theory to create a model for analyzing the influence of the individuals on multi social networks. With data collected from Facebook, Twitter and Google, the results came out as expected: Facebook had the greatest W-entropy index value, which was 100. Lady Gaga had the second highest impact, with the index value of 87; President Obamas index was the fifth highest, with a value of 50. |
