Paper Abstract:

Emerging disruptive technologies, especially big data, Internet of Things (IoT), cloud, cyber physical systems, and 3D printing technologies, have led to the emergence of a new industry era called Industry 4.0. The concept of Industry 4.0, which emerged at the technology fair held in Germany in 2011, has established its foundations on increasing productivity in the industry and the digitalization of systems. Although Industry 4.0 technologies have various benefits to the manufacturing sector, various difficulties may arise during the adaptation of these technologies. The aim of this research paper is to conduct a detailed study on the Industry 4.0 revolution to reveal the obstacles that may arise during the application of Industry 4.0 technologies to the manufacturing sector, and to guide the managers who want to implement Industry 4.0 applications in this direction, thanks to the roadmap obtained after the findings. Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) technique has been used to determine barriers and barrier levels to the implementation of Industry 4.0. This study will support managers to produce solutions that will reduce the impact of barriers to industry 4.0 adaptation.
