Paper Abstract:
|
Traditional teaching methods for teaching computer programming suffer from keeping students engaged and motivated to
learn how to code. On the other hand, video games have a very high successful rate of keeping players motivated and
engaged for hours without loss of focus to solve a set of tasks without feeling fatigued or frustrated. In this regard, in this
research we analyse the effectiveness of gamified learning methods compared to traditional learning methods for teaching
computer programming by conducting a study where students are taught computer programming using both teaching
methods. The results from our user study are presented in this paper. |
