Paper Abstract:
|
Multi-issue negotiation is popular in the e-commerce and e-negotiation fields due to its advantages over the single issue
negotiation. Although negotiation over price is sufficient if there are no other properties to consider, limiting the
negotiation to one attribute leads to dissatisfaction among merchants and consumers. This paper evaluates an existing
multi-issue negotiation method, Gorlitz et al. [2000]. The evaluation was done on the method independently and as a part
of another project [Hosni et al., 2008]. This method was used because it offers an incentive to the negotiating parties
upon reaching an agreement. Moreover the agent has a number of proposals to generate before it can end the negotiation
process. This paper shows that Gorlitz et al method does not provide expected solutions. Some attempts were made to
rectify the proposal generation algorithm of the negotiation process but none provided the expected results. |
