Paper Abstract:      The cache contents’ share among web proxies is one of the important techniques to reduce Internet traffic and access latency of web object. In this study, we propose an efficient object placement scheme for shared web cache, which places an object taking into consideration both the re-reference likelihood of web objects and the current loads of proxies. The advantages of the scheme are that it exploits temporal locality of web access pattern as well as the existing scheme and makes more distinct objects reside longer in cache. Trace-driven experiment shows that our scheme delivers shorter access latency than the existing schemes.
