Paper Abstract:
|
This article presents the elaboration of a computational model that uses the protocols of vital signs deterioration to integrate an early warning system (EWS) in the process of patient triage that is already widely used in the emergency department. It was conducted the elaboration of a model that was evaluated with the implementation of a prototype. This evaluation was performed on a scenario created to analyze the models behavior. We identified that this model reached the expectations, showing that the EWS behaved correctly. Thus, it was possible to verify that the model could detect significant changes in the vital signs of the patient, notifying the nurse when necessary and potentiating the patient's life chances. |
