Paper Abstract:      This study aims to investigate the e-learning participation situation of adults and the types of e-learning they are involved in, their learning type preferences, and their satisfaction towards the effectiveness of different learning types. By using telephone interview, this study gathered 1,642 Taiwanese adults. Statistics analysis showed a close relationship of adultsÂ’ characteristics, e-learning types, effect and satisfaction. Taiwanese adults mainly engaged in Home-based e-learning type and different learner groups displayed varying preferences. Females, younger persons, and learners receiving government subsidies preferred Institutional-based, while males, older persons, low-income and unemployed persons favored Home-based.
