Paper Abstract:
|
This paper presents ADDOCO: An adaptive data distribution model for mobile collaborative applications. The aim of ADDOCO is to provide a dynamic way to distribute data in a collaboration environment that relies on mobile technologies. ADDOCO enriches collaboration applications considering contextual information that describes the state of the collaboration process, such as current task, required user roles and information related to the location of the entities that participate in the collaboration. In order to support an effective distributed collaboration, ADDOCO is based on a data-centred model that allows a rapidly changing collaboration environment by adapting the way data is disseminated to entities and the strategy of role assignment. The dynamic information dissemination and role assignment strategy of ADDOCO were tested in a collaboration application in a medical context using smartphones. |
