Paper Abstract:
|
Optical 3d scanners have a wide distribution in industrial applications, mainly to digitize object surfaces in order to measure and compare geometric properties. But the generated 3d data is far from being optimal. They contain noise, eoutliers and artifacts which requires a pre-processing step. We present a set of fast and adaptive methods for 3d point cloud optimization which are suitable for industrial measuring tasks. We discuss appropriate data structures and efficient algorithms for nearest neighbor queries in large point clouds as well as curvature based simplification and smoothing approaches. |
