Paper Abstract:      The main aim of this paper is, to investigate the factors that contribute to student success in economics courses, and provide new ideas on how these factors could be used to offer adaptive learning in economics in a web based learning environment. First, the paper focuses on possible variables that could affect student performance in economics and afterwards, a statistical analysis is conducted, in order to derive an equation, which predicts student performance in economics. This equation could be utilized in the future by an e-learning platform to offer some kind of adaptation to the users, depending on social and economic factors, personal skills and prior knowledge in economics.
