Paper Abstract:
|
With an increasing number of businesses getting wired up to the Internet, the Web is emerging as a delivery channel for payment-related services, including those available through the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payment system.
Web services represent the current phase of development in the evolution of the Internet. They represent a cluster of established and emerging technologies such as XML, SOAP, WSDL and UDDI, which can be deployed across Internet, thereby offering a network topology, on which real business advantages can be derived. This paper proposes a Web Services architecture for EFT. Specifically, the focus of the paper is on the role of Web Services as a vehicle for transforming the EFT service into a collaborative extended enterprise and achieving higher straight through processing rates. |
