Paper Abstract:
|
Topic Maps ISO/IEC 13250 standard - is a tool capable of organizing information in such a way that it is optimized for navigation and knowledge representation. In the context of this paper we present the implementation of a standalone software application tool (Tmed) which enables the user to make use of the Topic Map technology. TMed is an authoring and navigating tool for Topic Maps, using which a user can create, edit, update and manage XTM files. Topic map editor offers a friendly GUI for topic map authoring process with no need of knowledge of XTM syntax specifications and enhanced features for navigating within different representations. TMed aims to provide an efficient tool that facilitates the process of applying Topic maps in order to organize and retrieve online information in e-learning systems. |
