Paper Abstract:
|
The design of modern command and control systems, for both crisis management and for military operations, is still a
delicate problem with a high degree of complexity. This is due, among other things, to the large data volumes that must
be handled and to the heterogeneous set of users they need to serve. In particularly, systems of this type require
integration of a large number of concepts of which some are quite trivial while others require more serious efforts to
become useful, efficient and effective. Among the concepts of special concern is the management of the operational
pictures including the need for handling information exchange and sharing? To overcome these problems and to design
more transparent systems a theoretical framework has been developed that demonstrates the capability of management of
shared operational pictures among users of command and control systems primarily with respect to their missions and
requirement for information management and with the purpose to augment the users situation awareness. |
