Paper Abstract:

E-commerce becomes more and more popular. But it is difficult to know advantages and disadvantages of products because users cant actually see and touch them when they use e-commerce. Although some e-commerce sites provide customer reviews to solve this, it is laborious for users to read many reviews and to get important information from them. We developed a system for visualization and navigation of customer reviews. We extract important words as evaluative attributes from the review articles and estimated polarity of the sentences. We visualize the customer reviews by using them. For visualization, we use a graph structure of the evaluative attributes, a pie chart of the polarity, an attribute list, and a sentence list. These parts navigate users into the reviews about the attributes that they are interested in. We evaluated our system from aspects of visualization and navigation, and confirmed usefulness of our system. |
