Paper Abstract:

The frequent development of several wireless access networks such as WIMAX, WLAN, UMTS/LTE, along with the increase of mobile multimedia applications and new services available on mobile terminals have become a very hot topic. Thus, the energy consumption becomes an important issue which may be addressed in order to support quality of experience (QoE) for mobile applications. This paper presents an investigation of vertical handover decision algorithms based on cost function methodology that take into account energy estimation strategies and future trends. |
