Paper Abstract:
|
This paper presents the concept of a Common Accessibility Profile (CAP) that can be used as the basis for designing and
evaluating systems and their components (including Assistive Technologies that are added to systems). The CAP is
being developed by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) / International Electrotechnical Commission
(IEC) Subcommittee 35 User Interfaces based on the Universal Access Reference Model (UARM). The CAP provides a
basis for identifying and dealing with accessibility issues in a standardized manner across multiple platforms. CAPs can
readily be developed for existing systems and their components and can be custom developed for specific users and
environments. This paper also describes various applications of the CAP. |
