Paper Abstract:
|
An e-lesson, related modules, can be represented by a directed acyclic concept graph. An e-lesson may be
designed by Q designers for different learners, which may be represented by Q graphs, G1 . . . Gq. When Q
grows to the limit, the graphs become a collection of all possible modules for many students with varying
knowledge levels. The goal of this paper was to establish graphs as a foundation for building a self diagnosing
and prescribing e-learning system. Two methodologies were devised to respectively establish confidence for
each graph and generate a background graph for every unique module in G1 . . . Gq and to prescribe remedies for
learners failing a module. The remedies were divided into a set of prescriptions based on their levels and
confidences. The foundation is a precursor to a system capable of making ordered prescriptions that minimizes
learners need to learn remedial modules. |
