Paper Abstract:
|
There is always heated discussion among academic researches around whether electronic games are standard narrative
carriers. Undeniably, electronic games have its own narrative characteristics. However, there is few studies on the
narrative approaches of electronic games. Different narrative approaches would cause different feelings among players.
Perhaps the in-depth study of narrative approaches can bring new inspiration for the topic. This paper has reviewed
different opinions against the narratives of electronic games. In future studies, I plan to further explore how different
narrative approaches could affect players and games, and how to choose the right narrative approaches for different types
of games. |
