Paper Abstract:      We describe an Interned-based intervention system for encouraging users to increase their exercise levels. The system is based around automated dialogue based on Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, a very structured therapeutic approach which lends itself well to automation. The system helps users identify and overcome mental barriers to exercise, by helping them think more flexibly about what they perceive to be stopping them from exercising; this flexible way of thinking in turn enables them to exercise more, leading to a healthier lifestyle.
