Paper Abstract:
|
H.264 is a video coding standard which can provide superior compression performance than previous standards. However,
post rate control schemes for H.264 could not show efficiency in terms of bit rate control. In this paper, a rate control
algorithm for H.264 video using pseudo encoding technique is proposed. This approach has strength in prediction of
frame complexity because it can approach to real encoding result prior to actual encoding process runs. Moreover,
compared with other algorithms, computation complexity of the proposed algorithm is relatively low due to simple
pseudo encoding process. We focus on number of zeros in DCT domain, and apply discovered characteristics to our new
rate control algorithm. Simulation results show that our implementation can provide higher performance compared to the
rate control algorithm in JM12.2 which is the lasted version of JM reference software. |
